Artist Statement
Studying the historical foundations of oil painting laid down by the great Italian masters of the 15th & 16th centuries, is the inspiration for my own painting practice. The rich optical complexities of oil paint developed by Leonardo and Titian permit a deep and sensual colour connection with the subject be it still life, landscape or abstraction.
